However, what can be tougher is, choosing the right diamond engagement ring. What are the most important things that you should keep in mind when you are purchasing a diamond engagement ring? Remember that a classic ring is composed of two important parts – the setting and the diamond. You should first choose a setting that your fiancée would love and then devote the rest of your time and budget to choose a diamond that is both beautiful, as well as certified.

Your budget

It can be difficult to decide the budget for something that is as permanent as an engagement ring. The most important thing to remember is that, you should invest in something that is of the finest quality and will be loved by your fiancée. As a general rule, be prepared to spend about a couple of month’s salary on a diamond ring. Keep your budget flexible, though and it is about value rather than price.

Choosing the metal
The metal that you choose for the ring should depend upon how much you can spend on the ring, and what your fiancée prefers. If she likes platinum over gold that is what you should go for. Both are equally suitable.
